A Controversial Tour

Kofi_annanKofi Annan’s packing his bags for an extensive Mideast trip to raise support for Lebanese peacekeeping efforts. While controversial stops in Syria and Iran are being worked out, the Secretary General would do well to add India to his itinerary. AFP reports that Indian defense officials are considering withdrawing their contingent of 775 soldiers from Southern Lebanon.

But is it bad that India's thinking of withdrawing troops from Lebanon? Wasn't it Indian soldiers who provided cover to Hezbollah when they kidnapped and killed 3 Israeli soldiers in October 2000?
