What have you done to bring these observations of Her report to 60 Minutes' attention?

I watched the original program and was outraged at the blatant bias. Lesley Stahl had a hissy-fit about the 22 Arab houses to be razed to make way for Mayor Barkat's plan for King Garden. The fact that these houses were illegally built was of little consequence to this unprofessional journalist.
Shame on 60 Minutes for another example of their unrelenting anti-Israel commentary on world events.

I saw the 60 Minutes piece and it clearly meant to imply that King David, and therefore the temples in Jerusalem never existed but instead are a "Zionist" invention meant to justify the Jews' presence in Israel.
If the world requires concrete proof, like a signed note or the ancient equivalent of a photograph as proof of King David and his city's existence -- and if their mention in the bible is not sufficient -- than the same quality of proof is required to prove the existance of Mohammad and Jesus.
And I don't think we have that, either.

I don't think 60 minutes is reporting fairly regarding Israel. I think Leslie Stahl should be ashamed of herself. I also think all the news media is unfairly biased against Israel.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised at this typical antisymetic nonsense. These are the same people that claim to be good Christians. The same ones that gave us the choice of convert or die during
The Crusades.

60 MINUTES DECIDED UPON ITSELF THAT JERUSALEM SHOULD BE DIVIDED TO BENEFIT 20 FAMILIES WHO HAVE ILLEGALY BUILT HOUSES IN dAVID CITY. LESLEY BELIEVES THAT SHE IS THE DECISION MAKER REGARDLESS TO THE NEGOTIATION nETANYAHOO/ABAS. SHAMELESS BIAS AGAINST ISRAEL!!! NOT ETHICAL PRESENTATION OF A CAUSE!!!!! SHE DID STRESED AGAIN AND AGAIN THAT THERE IS NO WRITTEN ARCHEOLOGICAL FINIDING THAT SAYS JERUSALEM BUILT BY DAVID. WELL, NOW SHE IS A SPECIALIST IN ARCHEOLOGY AND IN BIBLE STUDIES. THIS INTERVIEW MADE ME SICK, REALIZING HOW BIAS IS THE MEDIA AGAINST ISRAEL. SHE SHOULD BE FIRED AND SETTLE IN A HOME FOR THE ELDERLY!! 60 MINUTES SHOULD APOLOGIZE FOR ITS BIAS.

I agree with your assessment as long as both sides play by the same rules Would you say pro Isreal journalists are free of distortions if so then I applaud your stand If not well both sides need to be on the high ground

You are soo... right. I did not see 60 Minutes on Sunday night (football game) so I am lucky to see it here. I am appealed with what I saw and heard. There goes 60 Minutes for me. I have not remembered such biased programing from a show I did respect.

More Anti-Israel false reporting! (So what else is new?)

So many anti-Israeli, biased and unprofessional articles to choose from - it's like fighting the Hydra. Maybe that's the idea. I saw 60 Minutes and recognized the approach of interviewing when the journalist has already made up her mind and is looking for some way of tripping up the subject and showing him in a bad light.

It's too bad that she doesn't acknowledge, or that the Israeli being interviewed didn't assert, one of several significant points:
- archeological digs to add to human knowledge are (anywhere else) regarded as positive human endeavor.
- In Israel, with Palestian elites denying Israeli antiquity as a means of denying its legitimacy, and the legitimacy of Israelis as a people of the land, such digs are a means of surviving by finding new scientific evidence to refute the big lie.
- If Israel leaves the site alone, it will likely suffer the same fate as the Western Wall and the rich archeological treasures of Jewish history beneath the Temple Mount that apparently have been destroyed by the Palestinians.

why do you not bring your analysis to the attention of Leslie Stahl AND 60-minutes executives???????

I am so glad you addressed the "60 Minutes" piece that reported on the "City of David". I thought it was the most biased, anti-Semetic piece of journalism that I have seen. When the cameras showed the boys getting hit by the car they were pelting with rocks, the reporter's comments made them look like the victims.
Why should a car stop if the driver is being assaulted? The piece also made no mention of the archaelogical artifacts that the Palestinians find in the grounds of the Temple Mount, which they have sovereignty over, that prove the Jewish history of the site. There was no mention of how those artifacts are destroyed and the rubble removed from the site. I hope you share my comments with the producers of "60 Minutes", as I was shocked at the biased, one-sided reporting such a prestigious show would stoop to.
Sincerely,
Alison

Leslie Stahls expressions when talking to the Jewish archeologist were of total disrespect. It was something you would expect a child to do, rolling her eyes and such showed her true feelings. She is an antisemitic person who should be reprimanded for biased reporting or better yet fired.
If you can not report on a story fairly and unbiased you should not have the job.

You guys are rigth on. The big question is: why doesn't an intelligent person like Leslie Stahl see the truth? For that matter, why don't the editors of 60 minutes see it?

LESLEY STAHL TOOK A POSITION OF A PROSECUTOR AGAINST ISRAEL. SINCE WHEN IT IS A CRIME FOR A JEW TO BUY PROPERTY FROM A PALESTINIAN ?! SHE FAILED TO MENTION THAT MANY JEWS LIVED IN EAST JERUSALEM FOR MANY GENERATIONS TILL 1948 WHEN ALL THE JEWS WERE CHASED OUT AND THEIR PROPERTIES WERE CONFISCATED.
WHAT'S NEXT ON 60 MINUTES, BLOOD LIABLE ACCUSATIONS AGAINST THE JEWS ?!!!

I saw the 60 Minutes piece and felt it exhibited the usual degree of anti-Jewish bias that the liberal media exude. Your points are well taken, that Ms. Stahl did not apply the same objective criteria to Palestinian claims as she did to Jewish claims, and the show's producers should be called to account for this. How much more proof can you have than the Bible? Good point, too, about Mohammed's name not being commemorated in antiquity in any city claimed holy to Muslims, neither Mecca, Medina, nor Jerusalem. And Jerusalem is not just one of the most holy cities to Jews and Christians, it is the only holy city. Further, the Palestinians do not have sovereignty over the Temple Mount, but some lesser administrative authority granted by the Israelis, which was a very big mistake.

Re. 60 minutes report on the city of David. Leslie Stahl comments show a lack of clarity and total one-sidedness. How is it that King David was not there, Jews were not there, volumes of historical record are discarded and nullified, but a comment from a man who said that he can trace his family there for 900 years is accepted. Slanted and outrageously anti-semitic. Leslie Stahl should be removed from journalism. Rochelle

Stahl was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, of Jewish heritage, the daughter of Dorothy J. (née Tishler), and Louis E. Stahl, a food company executive.
(from Wikipaedia).

Perhaps her leftism is more important than her "Jewish heritage".

How many non-Jewish journalists, however dishonest some may be regarding Jerusalem and Jewish/Israeli rights there, would be so interested in distorting Jewish history?

I also saw this "60 Minutes" segment, although I was distracted during a few minutes of it. Although your podcast reporters found several supposedly anti-Israel questions and comments, I feel that they were as nit-picking as their target.

Relative to the comments of the Mayor of Jerusalem concerning razing illegal dwellings to make a supposedly tourist attraction/park, his statement that the inhabitants would be permitted to build elsewhere, when there is no available space other that on top of other house, struck me as cold blooded and bigoted.

Relative to evidence that this is King David's City, I point out that many doubted the actual existence of Jesus until Arab writings dating to some 200+ years after his death referred to him.

I might add that I am a Jew, but not a Zionist. I support Israel in general and specifically when it deserves it, but do not approve of all its actions.

I did not see 60 minutes but watched your video, and I agree with every point you made.
As you said if there is no mention of Mohamed in Mecca or Jesus in Nazareth or Bethlehem, then it really throw doubt about Christianity and Islam.
have you talked to the producers of the show and demanded a retraction or
an explanation to be made on the air

Palestinians buy land, houses, and whatever else they want and can afford inside the un-disputed territories of Israel. So, how is it that American and British news reports always fault Jews for building "in the Palestinian territories", and then claim Israelis (i.e., Jews) are guilty of ethnic cleansing? It's the Arabs, calling themselves Palestinians, who are guilty of ethnic cleansing, saying Jews -- by virtue of their religion -- have no right to buy land or build houses on in the disputed territories. Even the dispute of the territories is nothing more than Arabic, anti-semitic ethic cleansing.

Your bias...is well noted....You call what u do journalism or correctly stated yellow journalism done to inflame and prejudice. Why not become respectable and report the truth.

Re the man who was outraged that Israelis BOUGHT his mother's house - who forced her to sell? For money? The key word here being "sell". Why isn't he outraged at his mother for selling her house to Israelis? As for the area in queestion, it is one of the wort slums in creation and the residents prefer to live in a garbage dump? I don't think so. And yes, there are perfectly good areas where they were offered help to build legally. What more does Ms.Stahl want? It seems there psychological questions about Jews (Ms. Stahl) who turn on their own people.

Dear Frankel & ???, obviously the Leslie Stahl report is so intensely anti-Israel and so full of tendentiously presented "facts" that one cannot in a short time discuss (respond to) every single distortion, but I think you missed one very serious question: What did Leslie Stahl do, in the first place, to prevent the situation in which the Arab kids were harmed, instead of [APPARENTLY] GLADLY waiting for something to happen to them, so that she will have a "NASTY" FACT to report against those "despicable" & "encroaching" Israelis? ...

There are many videos on the internet of the incident of the boy being hit by the Israeli driver. Find one on youtube and look carefully, you will see the boy actually threw himself on the bonnet of the car. Find ones that show the full video because you will also see all the other boys (and men) laughing as the boy picked himself off the ground unharmed. It was a setup with reporters already on the scene before it happened.
