Yahud Weather Apps: It Gets Worse
After addressing the problem of the Yahoo weather app dividing Jersusalem, a reader alerted us to another problem we hadn't noticed: an Arabized spelling of Haifa -- a city well inside the Green Line.
Now, the contorted weather updates are subtlely supporting maximalist Palestinian claims on all the Holy Land -- from the Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea.

Actually, this is the right English transcription of the correct (not commonly used) Hebrew pronunciation, where "tsere" (with or wothout "Yod") translates into an E. The Arabic "Haifa" is still much more common among Israelis, like many other towns, villages and neighborhoods that became part of Israel in 1948 and got a Hebrew name that no-one really uses.

Strangely enough the weather forecast was different for West Jerusalem than for East Jerusalem. It was much warmer and more hospitable in the western part of the city. Of course, the Palestinians would most likely attribute that to the occupation. Go figure!
