Today's Poison Pen
At The Guardian, cartoonist Steve Bell suggests Israel enjoys killing Arabs, and the tombstone dated "1948-2009" drives his point home even clearer: this is the way Israel has always been.

Memo to Bell: Israel's war is with Hamas, not the Palestinian people.

This is appalling. It's spiteful in the extreme and will only exacerbate the level of anti semitism in the UK, which is already at an all time high.
I'm going to register my complaint with the Guardian in writing - I urge others to do the same.

You idiots!
Bell's accurate cartoon was based on graffiti left by IDF thugs on the walls of a Palestinian home they occupied, after ejecting the residents. This is no different than graffiti left by settler rabble who often scrawl Death to all Arabs on the Hebron walls. That is when they are not busy tossing their garbage onto Palestinians who dare to walk below the settler apartments or throwing rocks at Palestinian kids walking to school.
I'm waiting for you to castigate reporters who have visited what is left of Palestinian homes occupied by the IDF.
Not content with shooting out all the windows, they leave their filth and destroy much of value in the house. In an article on the CBS web site, correspondent Allen Pizzey reports that the father of the family whose home was trashed by the IDF rabble asked why, when there were three bathrooms in the house, did the IDF have to defecate in his wife's cooking pots. My answer. It is because they are unmannered and cruel and need to be punished severely.
And please, you apologists for the Israeli brutal occupation, don't say this doesn't happen because it does and you know it.

If the Isrealis wanted people to beleive that they are only targeting Hamas then they would not have allowed 300+ innocent children to have been caught in the crossfire.
The 1948-2009 is referring to the short history of Palestine, not Isreal's tendencies.
Perhaps you need to do a little reading up on world history, then you might not be so confused about this conflict.

The last two commentators seem to think that the IDF did all the shootings, and none of the Hamas bullets, rockets, missile, had ever-hit civilians accidentally or deliberately.
Even in peace time they had killed their own let alone in a mayhem such as this.

Great cartoon! The truth is sometimes ugly, and Israel is ugly. It is time the world woke up to the real sadistic essence of zionism and everything it stands for.
It is pathetic and sickening to see people like "Tabitha" at the top wail about the cartoon and bleating about an increase in "anti-Semitism." Jews wrote this graffiti. Jews encourage genocide of Arabs. Arabs are a semitic people. The real anti-Semites of the world--to the extent that "anti-Semite" has any meaning--are zionist Jews.
Huzzahs to the Guardian for having the courage to say what the zionist-controlled North American media is too craven to say!

To be frank and brief, anyone who defends Israel for its premeditated, cowardly (beyond words) and fascistic slaughter of nearly 1,400 defenceless, imprisoned and besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has a screw loose. It is a watershed event in the history of the conflict. Suddenly, the vast majority of people around the world are seeing Israel as a pariah, the murderous beast it has always been.
What can you expect from a state that was founded by thieves, thugs, murderers and liars. What goes around comes around. No wonder Israeli Jews are emigrating en masse while immigration has virtually dried up. Meanwhile, the Palestinians have become the majority between the River Jordan and the Med. Look carefully and you will see that America is growing weary of financially and politically supporting Israel, its number one geopolitical liability. It is only a matter of time before the "special relationship" ends.

Memo I to Honest Reporting: Writing in Bell's cartoon was found scribbled by Israeli soldiers in Gaza destroyed building walls, by a Channel 4 (GB) reporter. His cartoon is actually "honestly reporting" a fact.
Memo II: Palestinian people elected by a landslide Hamas, thus waging war with Hamas is waging war with Palestinian people.
Memo III: Israel's war is with Hamas, and with Hezbollah, and was with PLO (honest reporters do remember Ramalah shelling). And with Lebanon (1982-2000 + 2006), and with Egypt, and with Syria, and with Jordan, and before Israel was even with Britain... asides from Palestinian People.
Memo IV: Forcefully displacing (transfer, remember Peel and pal Ben Gurion?) a 1/3 of a people from their land, was very, very honestly, some kind of war.
Last Memo: Who's next? Iran, perhaps...?

It is a very good cartoon.

And so the comments of a few Israeli's as the mottus operandi of the whole population of Israel. Talk about being "disproportional." The amount of coverage given to any Israeli that expresses hatred and racism is 10 fold. How about the coverage of Palestinians textbooks and Hamas children's programs, or Hamas own charter. I wonder what "really good" cartoon I could come up with there. The Guardian is an incredibly weak and biased newspaper read by incredibly weak and biased readers. If Israel really wanted to "kill all the Arabs" then why has the Palestinian population quadrupled since 1948? Cat got your tongue?
