I have sent many letters to many in the media that wish to demonize Israel. After having just read where Israel stands as the only democratic nation in the Middle East makes me wonder if any one really cares about a democracy - in fact the answer is no. Though we think "democracy" is a positive step in being civilized, we must also realize that this is a Negative in this world...especially in the mideast!

Don't we pay for the Voice of America? Can't they broadcast the news, and we certainly don't need Op-Eds to help us know right from wrong. The newscasts on Voice of America should cover the Islam atrocities.

I think it is time for Israel to hire topnotch public relation people to spin, spin, spin around the globe all the good that comes out of Israel. It appears to me that Israel is shy about blowing her horn. She needs to have parades in all countries singing her praises, of which there is no limit. Why aren't there more attention getting ads and tactics as other countries use?

You were being deluged at more than 500 emails per hour is so simple that even a newspaper writer could figure it out. It's simply that people are really getting sick and tired of somebody in your editorial offices telling blatant lies.
This is all very plain, simple and uncomplicated. Even a "newsie" can figure it out.

Shocking the results of the poll and no dought CBC is entirely responsable for the bad opinion on Israel

No success whatsoever.
No single letter was published. The Times complains that it suffered at the hands of a powerful pro israeli site.
No apology for misleading the readers - it is the Arabs who confined into a crowded camp so many people - Palestinian Arabs living in a Palestinian Arab of Jenin 0 with plenty of land around. What were the circumstances of the battle in jenin, the explosives hiddden in the houses by the terrorists - all these factors hidden from the readers, and instead false accusations against Israel created in the minds of the readers.

Is it any wonder that both the London Times and BBC have a preponderance of Arabists on their staff? I don't think there is any wonder at all. Both organizations represent leeches on humanity, sucking the intellectual blood from their reader/viewers. I once considered both organizations to be in the top tier of information gathering and reporting.
Not any more.
Like the al-Fayed owner of Harrod's, they (all three organizations) should be boycotted.
Vote with your pocketbook. Maybe then they will get the message!

You did a great job and I congratulate you on getting the admission of error on the part of the Times. Unfortunately polls are only as good as the material used in them. Do they mention where and when the poll was conducted? Or how many people were questioned? It's very easy to slant a poll, question only those people who will respond in a way the questioner would like to see answers. You know what I mean. It might be nice to ask The Times about the details of this sort used for the poll, and then tell the editors of The Times to publish those facts too. Good Luck on your good work.

The "Shattered Dream" photographer's name, Judah Passow, makes me wonder whether with brethern like him, do we, Jews, really want enemies? Why is it that people of our own People are always ready and willing to serve the cause of our enemies, rather than supporting Israel? Is Truth only Palestinian, does the "objectivity Central Line" pass close to the Palestinians rather than to ours or, right in the middle?

It is time to stop sending aid to any of the coutries who think we are so bad. It is unbelievable.
Posted by: susan at Apr 7, 2008 9:23:47 PM
I usually ask the times,"Why did you print this dishonest whatever. They have never answered.
The obvious answer is a hatred of Jewish people. I don't expect them to admit the truth but it might make some of the Times staff think.
On the other hand their prejudice probably prevents them from thinkink about the answer or it is not a failure to think, but deliberate dishonesty

That poll shows why it is needed for groups like Honestreporting to create this myth of an anti Israel media. Why is Israel looked so badly upon? DON'T WORRY IT'S JUST DUE TO MEDIA BIAS! Wipe away the idea that just maybe it's because Israel's doing something fundamentally wrong.

Don't let's get worked up. Look at the list of participating countries. At least 5 Muslim countries. What do we expect? Israel does nothing to counteract bad publicity except cut our English foreign broadcasting. With idiots running Israel, we deserve what we get.

People only want to believe, what they are brought up to believe, and we know how many Israel haters are around the world. It is hard to fight when you have so many uneducated and radicals in this world. I am dissppointed in the Times and th BBC,but no longer expect the truth from them and other media organizasions like them.

Having worked in Japan for ten weeks a year ago, I can tell you that the nightly news in English was extremely negative and slanted against Israel. Lots of bonding between the movers and shakers of Japan and the Arabic/ Muslim blocs!
Posted by: Sharon Pinsley at Apr 8, 2008 6:35:29 AM
Media bias against Israel and pro-Arab block countries is terribly dishonest & I suspect it is due to the financial interests of those who own pressure or own the press. I have been in Israel during "live" English-language press, right at the site of a mob in protest...that wasn't there at all.

israel should be on the top of the list, the only democratic country in the area, if not the world. as it was published before, israel needs the best public relations company to boost israel and to boost israel for a holiday destination.i have always known bbc to be in favour of the arabs. my only regret, leaving israel.
Posted by: roberta at Apr 8, 2008 7:28:45 PM
The fact that this poll did not include countries such as the Sudan and Zimbabwe is a shocking revelation of one-sidedness and prejudice, considering how the afore-mentionned governments have produced such huge negativity.
Also, that the the poll would not have underscored that what was being polled was reaction ONLY to a country's government policy has to challenge the poll's credibility.

Israel is not only a victim of the Arab world, but also a victim of its own success as a thriving democracy in spite of the evil surrounding her! We tend to boast of its tech. and other achievements on the one hand and the Arabs blame her for their self-inflicted miseries on the other. It has nothing to do with democracy, but everything to do with jealousy. Israel needs to project more the successful social integration of its multicultural mix of peoples living in this tiny nation.
