They also use ambulances and Hezbulah has used U.N. vehicles. Israel then gets blamed for its checkpoints.

I am wondering, If the press stops reporting altogether perhaps the terrorist would not get the international attention that it is and they would not succeed at turning the world against Israel. No matter what Israel does, they are always the villain.

I agree that "foreign journalists cannot possibly report objectively from the Gaza strip under threat of intimidation" and I deplore the kidnapping, but should like it noted at the same time that Alan Johnston's reporting was by no means objective. This was commented on even by people in Gaza after the kidnapping: "Why did they take our friend?" was the gist of many remarks at the time.

And... do not forget the use of ambulances by the Hezbollah in the recent Lebanon conflict.

Stan is so right. Their use of ambulances is well known to anyone who pays attention to their claims of Israel attacking "innocents." But it doesn't stop with them sneaking in legal transports they even use ice cream trucks...putting their children at risk.

Negating the credit that the FPA earned by deploring the use of TV and Press signs on the armoured vehicle, Abu Ahmad of Islamic Jihad accused Israel of placing the press signs after the aborted attack. This mendacious charge only confirms that the Palestinians can make these false charges with impunity. And then for the FPA to claim that this allows Israel to target and kill journalists, when Alan Johnston remains in captivity is the ultimate obscenity.

One question that everybody failed to ask is why would any foreign journalist venture into Gaza. The risks and lawlessness are self-evident. These people do not abide by any law or common decency.
Being in the news, for any reason, serves the purpose of these groups. It gives them legitimacy and notoriety and makes them known to the world. The foreign media should cendure Gaza and not cover it at all. These groups and their murderous deeds do not deserve media attention.

Palestinian Terrorists: Abusing Freedom of the Press
Is anyone actually surprised? Palestinians frequently use ambulances to move ammunition and terrorists through check points. We are dealing with an enemy with no moral compass. An enemy who sees nothing wrong with targeting women and children. An enemy that has no qualms using their own children as human shields. Let all journalists be put on notice; they no longer have immunity.

WThis is routine Palestinians tactic.
The west has still not understood what is obviuos to a child. There is only lawlessness in Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine and Sudan to name only a few.

Why the press is pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel is beyond me. Will the press ever get it right?

Even in the face of such a seminal violation to the rules of engagement to the free press, the condemnations by the international press sources and the FPA amounts to a wrist slap to the exposure of the cynical and brutal nature of these people.
One can only imagine the uproar if such an action where to be taken by Israeli soldiers. On top of this,it was perpetrated by Mahmoud Abbass's men who are being touted as the "moderate" side of the Palestinian equation.
It would be wholly fitting if we were all fortunate enough to see how Hamas and Fatah "extinguish" each other.

Yes, an important issue. Just like the shooting of journalists, it's a topic that desrves coverage.

These people do not stand by the generally accepted ethical standards that society applies in these settings. How are we to respond ethically to an unethical opponent? We must still give the benefit of the doubt wherever possible, but the very effort to do that is what endangers the IDF on a regular basis. When will we see that these groups (Islamic Jihad et al.) are not capable of and have no intention of acting in good faith on any front, least of all in relation to Israel!
