I'll write to Deborah Howell but she hasn't answered my last question as to why even the BBC and the Guardian refer to Hamas as militants and a radical Islamist group but the Post calls them "gunmen" and "fighters".

Perhaps if NY Times and Washington Post truly were legally complicit in terror and were sued for damages by victims of terror, they may take a different approach in the future. Whatever their ideology, money always comes first.

We are not surprised at the horrible behavior of the Washington Post and The New York times, they are the worst newspapers in the US. Their anti-Israel and pro-Arab and terrorist support is disgusting.
I agree we should all work to support Israel and fight the world's terrorism.

Did anyone see the BBC news broadcast at 6.30 this morning? They started to report on research that had discovered that there was a link between Islamic extremism and honour killigs (what a surprise!) and showed some crowds including moslem women wearing the veil. Suddenly, the piece trailed off and there was a quick shift to a totally different subject, artificial skin (which I think was invented in Israel ages ago). Let us not forget that the reason why Alan Johnson is being held in Gaza (and lets not believe all the lies Hamas tells about trying to free him, they are in league with his captors)is so that the BBC can be blackmailed into broadcasting only the items Hamas wants to hear and suppressing everything else.

If you published the email addresses of The New York Times and The Washington Post, more people would write complaints to them.

Comments worthy of the Hatfields and the McCoys............(and all who profit from or just get off on war) guaranteed to keep the conflict going.

I am amazed at what NyTimes and WashPost have done, by buying into the mantra of the left. How else could such an error of judgement been made other than bowing before that principle of turning cynicism into catechism and criticism into sacrement, losing sight of what one is giving credence to in the flawed process.

When Words are are used weapons. Emotional Abuse!!Once spoken they can never be recanted. The media is the most emotionally abusive 'parent', husband, brother, etc. and should be held totally responsible for all the subliminaly brainwashing that is sent out.. just for EGO and MONEY and ATTENTION. This not only HURTS it MURDERS and MAIMS..the BRAIN.. This is the biggest reason that Newspapers are going out of business. smart intellegent people are not subscribing anymore. Including me!

I wonder, if one followed the money trail, would one find Arab world backing or stock so to speak in these papers?

I think newspapers have a right to publish op-eds. Unfortunately, groups like Hamas and Hezbulah are so good at playing the media game, the editors of papers really don't know what these groups represent.
They do not know that article 6 of the Hamas charter says
"The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him…"
I use the above quote a lot to educate people. It changes the framework of the debate from Israel/Palestinian conflict to racist genocidal maniacs.
In writing to these editors I think we need to educate them more than criticize their ignorance.

Why does the most outspoken self claimed honest reprting news agency not even comment on the issues of the world trade center and the pentagon attacks, and don't say you do not know of the stories that propose internal sabatoge and U.S. government complicity. You are loosing credability by not responding to these important issues. You are also supporting the real terrorists by keeping the truth from the very people you claim to represent.

As we have seen so many times in the past "Sensationalism Lies" gets more coverage than "Honest Reporting". Sooner than later people begin to realise the truth.

Idiots like this US administration have done as much to give legitimacy to terrorists as the press. No administration prior to Dubya's has been so short-sighted as to offer legitimacy to the PLO (which Oslo had already done) and all of the other terrorist organizations that comprise the PLO/PA. Rather than alert Israel to the disastrous mistake they'd be making by talking to any terrorist leader (Hamas, Fatah, what's the difference?), the US government has exerted an undue amount of pressure on the Israeli government (currently a disaster for Israel) to talk to the terrorists who already have Jewish blood on their hands (remember, Abbas financed the Munich massacre and denies the Holocaust) and whose only goal is the destruction of Israel and to kill as many Jews as possible? I don't see US officials rushing to speak to Al-Qaeda representatives, or representatives of the terrorists in Iraq. The government's willingness to divide terrorists into "good" and "bad" has contributed greatly to the media's plunge into anti-Israel rhetoric and giving legitimacy to terrorists.

Following a quotation which cannot be true:
Op-ed pages should be open especially to controversial ideas, because that's the way a free society decides what's right and what’s wrong for itself.
This is not the way to find out what is true. Historically correct is to do this through the criteria which is eternal: through the WORD of GOD!!! Ask Him, what He thinks. And His truth will be final and overcoming. Jews are His people and His word is clearly telling who will win!!!
Amen!

C-SPAN had Ahmed Yousef as a guest on the Washington Journal on Sunday, June 24, 2007. No one is even talking about that.
you can go to C-SPAN's Web site and click on Washington Journal....it usually lets you view past programs. He was on from 9:00am to 9:30am

Prohabition in the USA brought out a gangster system which at it's hights murdered people in the streets. The government finally stopped the brutalization by putting the perputrators in prison. Why should the terriorists be treated differently? Reward them by welcoming them into our homes thru the media is crazy. I can't believe that there are no good people left in the Middle-east to replace the leadership that have committed or looked the other way from criminal
acts.

Recently we have watched theHamas in it´s true elemen. Democratically helped to the power they have killed, murdered, thrown people out of windows, not sparing women and children, kidnapping - and asking the naïve western countries for more money, to pay their always fighting threatening men. Swearing to destroy Israël and establish yet another muslimstate. And BBC, Washington post and NY Times are giving them a hand.

It's taken a hell of a long time for the experts to realise that extremist groups use the news media for their advertising. Certainly let the authorities (whatever that might mean) read their messages, but don't publish them.If nobody hears them, they will simply die from "disuse"
Posted by: Isaac at Jun 28, 2007 9:23:13 AM
Who from the West thought up the idea that the Arab World would believe that it would be possible to win their war against us by giving a favorable spin on reporting their acts of terriorism? It's been my opinion all along - Why is there such a bias in reporting, I would ask? Thats the only reason, unless they are all crazy. Now a destinct possiblity! Bob Poplar

Last month I had the opportunity to watch both BBC and Al Jezeera (in English) report on the video Hamas broadcast pre Alan Jonstan's release from his captors. While disgusting, I was not surprised to see that BBC continued to repeatedly broadcast the entire Alan Jonstan tirade in what amounted to a propaganda speech written, edited and approved by the terrorist Hamas regime in Gaza, while Al Jezerra simply reported the development in less than a minute.
BBC continues to hold the dubious distinction of maintaining it's openly hostile anti-Israel crusade even when compared to TV stations run by Israel's enemies. No doubt, for dishonest reporting BBC stands head and shoulders above all other channels.
