Iran: A Threat to Israel and the World
Iran has made clear that its objective is the destruction of Israel. Even worse, it is relentlessly pursing the means to achieve this objective. Read and comment on HonestReporting's Special Report on Iran.

As a Global citizen, I ask to the World ? Why there is no question on Israel's Nuclear Arsenal ? Why the US, UN, IEAE & US-supportive world DO NOT TAKE ACTION WITH NUCLEAR ISRAEL ??
Please answer this question.

Of all the names in the world, you choose "Honest Reporting" as your name!!!! You cant pretend credibility just with a name...

You cant pretend credibility just with a name... says unnamed correspondent.
That is true. So what are you disputing exactly? Are you saying that Honest Reporting dispenses untruths? In which cases is HR in your view not reflecting a fair and true depiction of events?
Iran's future possession of nuclear weapons poses a threat which Israel has not and will not pose. Given its lead in this area for 20 to 30 years Israel has never overtly threatened its neighbours the way in which Iran has done. Moreover Israel has democratic institutions with checks and balances in it which is not the case in Iran. Consequently Saudi Arabia has more to fear from a nuclear Iran than it ever did from a nuclear Israel.

I just love it how people can say that the hard work of someone else is nonsense and/or propaganda without providing any proof that it is actually untrue.

how can this report be made more avialable to more mainstream news media?
Posted by: jeff singer at Jan 15, 2007 5:49:38 PM
I think that the article brings up the most important point of all: Iran wants war and unfortunately it's already picked the first target. It's very sad to see how things are developing and how come Iranian president is getting away with so many things (oil I guess...)
I hope that our newspapers and TV will not forget the reason why Iran should be stopped and unfortunately why we cannot trust Iran now.

Thank you HR for summarizing this worrying situation. If nothing is done about this evil Iranian regime, there could be a second Holocaust - see this frightening scenario by historian Benny Morris:

Some people are so used to one sided reports, that's the moment they see anything different they don't know what to do.
Honest Reporting brings the whole picture together, and people who are so fast to dispute the name should rather point out ANY factual errors or otherwise apologize.
I never understood why such unreasonable opinions are printed anywhere and why not to live the room for informed discussion.

That's all true, but cleaves so closely to the bumbling, nepotistic, dead-ender neo-con trash being spewed by the Bush administration that it makes me doubt HR's motivations. Yes, Iran is a threat. No, this is not news: then why are you bring it up right now, in concert with the dangerous ideologues and incompetents in the Bush administration? There are other, greater, threats both to Israel and the world.
The Bush administration has done more to destabilize the Middle East--and endanger Israel--than Iran could ever hope to do. If I saw just one report about -that-, I'd have a far easier time taking you seriously.

"I had a dream" too
Thank you Honest Reporting for waking me up

An excellent and needed article. What amazes me is the ignorance of the world apparent in the comments posted about your report. Of course ignorance and evil is what Ahmadinejad is all about. Keep us posted on the ongoing menace of Iran.

How do we make the rest of the world believe how dangerous Iran is, not only to Israel, but to the whole world.
Posted by: Ros at Jan 15, 2007 6:16:25 PM
Exactly Israel is a democracy and has never threatned any other country with extinction. Why does the rest of the world just stand by and let this man utter these appaling threats and not tell him of the consequences?ie his own countrys danger from the fall out and the fact that there will be equal retaliation to his actions?Consequently the end of our world!!!BUT its OK to sacrifice the Jewish people again?

In all honesty, it is not only the State of Israel or the United States that should be concerned with Iranian nuclear program, but any sane humanity.
African countries should also be concerned. By the exuberance the Iranian leader is showing,(sorry to use this langauge), like an excited school boy, one is constantly afraid that this man may do something someday that will hurt the entire humanity. Imagine the danger a nuclear polution, even poses not only to the Middle-East, but also Africa, which is not too far away.
Candidly, the world should stand up against Iranian nuclear mad pursuit, before it is too late.

I am also alarmed at the complacency of the world. Iran is allying itself with countries in South America now to harm the United States. These countries whose only policy is built around the word "anti" do not deserve to continue either. However, what do you suggest? I recall that Malaysian prime minister who retired made many such statements.
Also if these countries like Indonesia have a catastrophe, are we oblighed to come to their help when perhaps this catastrophe should be allowed to stand as it is? It is a moral dilemma.

I wish somebody would finally DO something!
Honest Reporting is 100% right: it's a threat to the entire world.
How quickly people have forgot the lessons of 1933-1945!
The history is about to repeat itself, only this time it will be much worse.

rheteric does nothing action speaks but it will be too late, Iran will get a nuke and make no mistake Iran will use the nuke, it is a statement made by the madman of Iran

Apparently the enemies of the truth are doing most of the reporting. I won't reply to them; I don't talk with my enemies.
The United (Arab) Nations is powerless to do anything about this would-be Hitler in Iran as it has become a forum for Arab opinion and although Iran is not Arab, it is in league with them.
What amuses me is that the madman president of Iran is really saying, "I will solve the Israel-Arab situation by wiping them all off the face of the Earth." How could he nuke Israel without nuking the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians? He can't.
Tyrants seem to be ignorant of history. Not even the former might of the British Empire was left after messing with Israel. Islamists say there is no God but God. And that God has said that Israel is the apple of his eye. Mess with Israel and YOU shall be destroyed.
It seems that the destruction of Iran is just a matter of time; I won't be unhappy to see it go.

who was it that said, "if someone threatens to kill you, believe them"? someone who threatens genocide deserves the harshest the world's armies can deliver; never mind if he intends to carry out the threat.

The world chose to ignore Hitler when his "Mein Kampf" was published. No Western country believed what that evil dictator was saying and what followed could have been prevented.
Today, we have the Persian/Muslim variant of the 1930's Hitler. He is aiming for nuclear weapons and is swearing destruction to the only modern, democratic and liberal society in the entire middle east.
It doesn't bother him at all that possibly hundreds of thousands of his fellow Muslims might also be annihilated by his insanity!
Unless the rest of the world, including China and Russia, wake up to this new reality we may be doomed to a repeat of Hitlerism in our time.
The man is a product of his isolation within the environment that led to his great inferiority complex. So, as a very small man, he flexes nuclear muscle to try to assert Iranian power.
A sad time to anticipate the problems that the New Persia will create for the freedom loving world.

If the wind is right, Iran will commit suicide if, G-d forbid, it bombs Israel. If the wind is in Iran's favor, its bomb will wipe out much of the Arab world. 'Course the Iranians are not Arabs so they won't care. No matter which way the wind blows, Iran will end up the same as Israel so the bottom line, once again, is Iranian suicide. Stupid.

It is time to take the gloves off. A pre-emptive strike is the only thing they will understand. Actually just getting rid of AMan DidAJob - you know who I mean, would be a good start!

Like all other maniac dictators he and his other cronies should be eliminated. I don't believe that many ordinary Iranians would be too upset.
