In interviewing with Tim Russert on Sunday, Carter said that the title didn't refer to actual apatheid - so why the heck did he use it in the title? More bad judgement. Carter also didn't help the middle east situation - who is he to criticize - he couldn't end the hostage situation, which Reagan ended shortly after being in office.

In today's (12/6/06) Atlanta Journal Constitution long time adviser to former President Jimmy Carter has resigned his position as a Carter Center Fellow for Middle East Affairs in response to Carter's new book.
"Being president doesn't give one the prerogative to bend the facts to reach a prescribed reality," said Kenneth Stein, the first exective director of the Carter Center.
Stein is an Emory University professor, who teaches Middle Eastern history and political science.
"Presdeint Carter's book on the Middle East, a tittle too inflammatory to even print, is not based on unvarnished analysis; it is replete with factual errors, copied materials not cited, superficialities, glaring omissions, and simply invented segment," Stein wrote.
"Aside from the one-sided nature of the book, meant to provoke, there are recollections cited from meetings where I was the third person in the room, and my notes of those meetings show little similarity to the points claimed in the book,"

Just so all Jewish people know, Jimmy Carter is an illuminist and is not a Christian. God commands the Christians to love and pray for the Jewish people. Jesus said, By this shall all men know that you are my disiples, if ye have love one for another.

Carter does his best work with a hammer in his hand and his mouth full of nails. Pity he cannot recognize their when he is a his best.

EX US PRESIDENT CARTER new anti ISRAEL book is as disgustingly despicable as he was as president. CARTER was the most incompetent president in US history. He was viciously anti ISRAEL as president, pressuring PM BEGIN to surrender the SINAI to EGYPT. And he permitted the kidnapping for 444 days of US EMBASSY personnel which was the start of the TERRORIST STATE OF IRAN. This book is the 2006 version of HITLERS MEIN KEMP.

After trying a large multitude of careers, it is really a shame that Carter never has found any success whatsoever in any of them except peanut farming. His feeble attempt to become an author is one more dismal and pathetic failure to add to the long list.

In the past I have supported and even liked former President Jimmy Carter. I was always impressed with his work with Habitat for Humanity. His recent stands against Israel and his support of a terriorist controlled country of Palestine have caused me to rethink my support of President Carter.
I have felt in the recent past some of his remarks in the press concerning the issue of Israel and Palestine were anti Israel. I honestly have come to believe President Carter is anti semitic deep in his heart. His latest book Israel-Peace or Apartheid - speaks to my feelings concerning President Carter's being anti semitic at the deepest levels of his heart. Like many before him he would deny such feelings but his comments concerning the Israel/Palestine conflict and the title of his latest writing effort speak of his real feelings.
President Carter just hides his anti semitic feelings with his deceptive sweet southern charm.

Not surprising! Many of us know what he is for a long time! How can we protest directly to him? I cannot find address for him. I wonder why?

1. Israel did not take anything away from the people of the Gaza strip and the West Bank. It were Egypt and Jordan who started a war and lost the territories. If anything, they should be the address for the Palestinian people.
2. President Carter would be outraged if someone took his farm land! Interesting: How did his ancestors get that land?

The Carter center is sponsered by Saudi Arabia receiving grants narrows the freedom of speach and it seems of thinking.....MR Carter made a mess in Haiti He is going to pass in History as an unsuccessful president who to keep his place in the front page and try to change his image kept on doing always the wrong move....Sad because there are lifes at stake not peanuts.....

It was Carters inability to handle the Iran affair in the 70's that puts us all in an untenable situation with them and the rest of the middle east 30 years later. Had he had the courage to act with conviction he might have lasted another four years - thank goodness that didn't happen.

I WAS APPALED AT THE FACT THAT CARTER WOULD NOT EVEN RESPOND TO OR COMMENT UPON REMARKS BY ALAN DERSHOWITZ. HE IMPLIED THAT HE WAS SOME TYPE OF AN IRRATIONAL PERSON.

WOW!!! What a must for lovable
Bill O'Reilly in his 6ft5inches to get Carter and Dershowitz on the show: Who does'nt realize that Jimmy
had a late brother known as a mocking
Jew hater. The apple always
fall near the tree never to far from
it. Lets hear more from Jimmy on this.

I'm having a difficult time trying to understand the paradoxical nature of Carter's new position. Most folks believed him to be an honorable person. Is it possible that there may be reasons for his distortions?
Are we seeing stages of dementia,a spokesman for the Arabs, some personal economic gain,etc...Why would a publisher want to participate in this sham?

Carter was the worst president the US ever had. He has always sympathized with the terrorists, especially backed and urged by his Polish antisemitic counsellor Brzezinski. His book is not worth reading. He has always done the wrong move

It's about time to call a spade as spade. Former President Carter is an anti-Semite. The stupid media keep repeating the fact that Carter took part in negotiating a peace treaty with Sadat, Egypt's president at the time. Sadat took it upon himself to visit Jerusalem long before the Camp David conference took place. Carter's stooges advised him to hurry and get on the band wagon or he would look silly and be left out. That's when the US offered to hold t he meeting between Sadat and Begin. In my opinion if Carter wasn't a party crasher the peace treaty could have easily been negotiated with Begin and Sadat and Carter's voluntary trip to Israel certainly indicated as much.

the ramblings of a senile old man should not be given credibility by a publisher who is guilty of not checking facts, Churchill had his finest hours in office ,when he became senile one was not subjected to his writings, Carter is now in his senile period, his editor did a bad job, and antisemitism is rewarded-

I heard Jimmy Carter on CBC Radio recently, discussing his new book. He pretty much blamed Israel for world-wide terrorism: Israel is completely to blame for the horrible conditions in which the Palestinians continue to live, since the breakdown of Israel/Palestinian negotiations, 6 years ago; and the lack of peaceful dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians is the main reason the world is currently plagued with terrorist acts. Presumably Mr. Carter's blame of Israel includes the events of 9/11, which occurred within the referenced timeframe. He did not bother citing any other causes of world terror. What curious tunnel vision!

I am dimayed but not surprised about Mr Carter and his libellous new book. I worked very actively and directly in his campaign for President in '76 while living in Wisconsin. Was responsible for setting up his phone campaign, meeting his Hollywood Guest Speakers
and numerous other functions while l small fry stuff but close to the center of strategy,
Met his mother and other family members and some of his Plains GA. Friends. I was not comfortable with him or them. It was subtle but there was always a strong scent of antisemitism exuding from him and his campaign
To this day I regret working for him.

Merely because the person who wrote this book was a one-time president does not make his views less than anti-Semitic and entitle him to a respect that would not be afforded to any other anti-Semite.

Whether history will record that he was our most inept and incompetent executive is debatable and remains to be seen. But what is not open to debate is the vitriole with which Israel is held in this fellow's heart (that same heart, you will recall, that he lusted in, as he so proudly proclaimed prior to his election as president).

Perhaps he ought to once again pick up his carpenter's tools, go to the holy land and do something useful, other than to deny what someone said there a long time ago: "Judge not, lest ye be judged."

Good point Natania! Sounds like Carter has to write whatever the arabs tell him to write.

Perhaps, also, he's going a bit senile.

Jimmy Carter and the Democratic party as a whole will never truly understand the true hatred directed towards Israel from her enemies. They believe it will all just go away someday, by appeasing and negotiating with the aggressors. An approach he used with the Iranian/US embassy kidnappers. WOW, that went well!! May G_d bless the U.S. & Israel.

Jimmy Carter has been conclusively unmasked as a blinded Jew-hating bigot, a disgrace to the Presidency he once held and, in particular, to the Bible he boasts he believes. What an embarassment to multitudes of Jews and Christians who yet revere the bedrock origins of the Good Book!

I am very disappointed that Jimmy Carter pressured PM Begin into giving the Sinai to Egypt. I am very upset that so many Jews including our Israeli leaders do not know that all the land given up is really ours, the inheritance of all Jews of Israel, America and all the nations. Our American constitutional right to freedom of religion was limited greatly by these losses of property. Since I don't have the opportunity to confront Jimmy Carter on this wrong he has done to me and all of us Jews, I pray that Jimmy Carter will suffer a horrible death, including the loss of part of his body, so he will understand the loss he causes us, measure for measure.

Under no circumstances should anyone suggest that Israel allow any of the terrorists to remain in the West Bank or Gaza, or any other corner of Israel for, how can Israel be expected to live with such wanton murderers on their borders? Wich country in the world would be expected to undertake living with such neighbors, never knowing when any infraction could turn into war?

Arafat and his immediate followers should be indicated and tried for crimes against humanity against Jews, and Israel, and aginst the European Moslems they enslaved.
