Genocidal mass murder continues to foul the world. So do large-scale massacres of civilians and brutal executions. A piece well worth reading. We received a number of alerts from concerned Times readers regarding an illustration that accompanied this article in the print edition. The illustration (above - click for larger version) was the word 'NAZI' with Israel written inside the 'I'. While the illustration was ill-conceived, its context alongside the article indicates that there was no major impropriety from the Times on this one.

Nazi, huh? I find it rather odd and sad that people use the label of Nazi so frequently. I don't really think they understand what the Nazis did. It wasn't just a forcing of beliefs on people. It was terrorism in its highest form. It was brutally repressing all forms of self expression. It was killing people in the streets, humiliating them for sport, starving them, using them as slaves. Using the label of Nazi so loosely makes it lose all meaning in its historical context. i'm quoting the dude above or below me thats funny, that exactly describes how the israelis are treating the people in the west bank and gaza. slaves? hmm, i wonder how many palestinians are EMPLOYED in israel without the same rights or PAY that israelis get. killing people in the streets? ever heard of the big guy with the united states military gun shooting the ROCK THROWER CHILD? you know nothing of the situation therefor you cannot comment on it. |
