Another Jenin
This weekend confirmed that Palestinian propaganda efforts have succeeded in turning the ongoing IDF operation in southern Gaza into another version of the infamous 'Jenin massacre' lie of 2002, which was characterized by manipulation of photos, statistics, sources of fire and identity of the dead. Consider:
* House demolitions: The IDF says that since the beginning of Operation Rainbow, a total of five houses have been demolished, all structures used by terrorists to shoot at troops or detonate bombs. So what about those pictures? IDF spokesman Brig.-Gen. Shmuel Zakai:
almost all of the footage broadcast by the Palestinians to the world were of houses demolished during the past three and a half years, and not recently.
"They recycled old footage in order to generate international pressure in an attempt to prevent the operation from taking place or minimize it as much as possible," said Zakai.
Case in point: '1,100 Palestinian Gaza Homes Destroyed in 10 Days' Did the UNRWA once again get taken for a ride by the Palestinian propagandists? Let's see:
Municipal officials said at least 43 homes were demolished and dozens more damaged in the camp this week. The army said five houses were destroyed after they were used as cover by militants to attack troops.
Where in the world did the UN get the 1,100 figure from, if even the Palestinian officials claim only 43 homes destroyed?! And in terms of numbers of people made homeless, how do 43 homes translate into 1650 homeless (UN claims)? That's 38 people per home!
* Death of 3-year old girl on Saturday:
"The Palestinians lodged a complaint with the district liaison office, but to our knowledge and according to initial findings no soldiers shot in the vicinity where the girl was located," a military official said.
But AP reports, 'Child Shot in Gaza As Incursion Continues' -- suggesting IDF culpability.
* No reports on IDF humanitarian efforts in Rafah

Bias "news", Know Thy Source -- khalil hamra
May-20-04
Today's front page newspaper story about 30 "innocent palestinian civilian victims" of the situation being killed was written by the associated press' khalil hamra
Do a search on him with "bias" included and this is a paragraph from the first piece that came up:
The Associated Press article does attempt to substantiate its claims with independent, non-ISM eyewitnesses, a refreshing change from the past. They quote both a Khalil Abdullah and a Khalil Hamra, who concur with the ISM's story. But neither of these individuals are without bias. Khalil Abdullah reported that, although not a member, he works with the group.
And Khalil Hamra? A photographer on assignment for the Associated Press, Hamra works out of Rafah, specializing in pictures of armed Palestinian militants, the bodies of Palestinians killed by the IDF, and anti-Israeli protests. He seems to have enjoyed a particularly close relationship with the International Solidarity Movement, taking many of the pictures in the aftermath of Rachel Corrie's death and Tom Hurndall's shooting, as well as pictures of the ISM at anti-American protests - most notably, the infamous shot of Rachel Corrie screaming in rage as, surrounded by Palestinian children, she lights on fire a paper American flag. While the subjects of a photographer do not necessarily indicate his sympathies, we note from a 10 June 2002 statement by the Foreign Press Association that Khalil Hamra of Rafah was jailed for several days in 2002 by the Israeli Defense Force while working for Reuters in Ramallah. IDF spokesmen explained that the arrest was due to suspicions that linked him to terror activities. Solidarity With Terrorists
Hence, This is Halil Hamra, of Gaza-stan Fabricated "news" & Assoc. with a cut CLEAR "mission".

Bias "news", Know They Source, since we have seen years of pictures of would-be palestinians in swarms of hundreds wailing at the funerals of their terrorists, or in black hoods and waving their automatic rifles (images which they apparently think show their strength) -- but we have NEVER seen pictures of the results of their "work accidents" -- i think one would have to be brain dead to not realize that a photographer would not be granted access unless he/she evinced bias.
That is a very valid point H.!
Unlike the US and Israeli Free press system, one can be sure that access will be ONLY to clearly "good" helpers in 'Palestinian'-movie producing propaganda.

DebKa now reporting that the General corrected his number to lke 56 homes destroyed?
http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=853
1. Gaza Strip commander Brig. Shmuel Zakka announced Monday that 56 Palestinian house were destroyed in Operation Rainbow. He corrected the earlier figure of 10 after investigation but it came nowhere near the many hundreds falsely reported.
Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and Suleiman know this because they are not nourished by partially faked Palestinian propaganda images but by aerial photos in real time.
